A one-off set for Channel 4’s late night Friday Night At The Dome programme, showcasing three as then unreleased tracks from the Seven album. It was during the recording of this programme that Tim first expressed a wish to work with Angelo Badalamenti.
A secret warm-up show in Paris starting with many new songs from the studio sessions of what would become the Seven album, including Pressure’s On which would resurface on Wah Wah and Somebody Help Me (a.k.a. Singer’s A Liar) that was never played again or released at the time.
Protect Me is track ten on the 1992 James album Seven.
An acoustic version recorded for US radio station KROQ also appears on the 2001 reissue and a US promo Setlist EP. The song also appears on the Getting Away With It Live cd and dvd as well as both an acoustic and electric version on the Seven live dvd.
It was another track debuted at the Paris Locomotive show in March 1991 and was aired on British television in the summer of that year on Channel 4’s Friday Night at the Dome and Granada TV’s What’s New Music.
