China Girl was released as a b-side to the Sit Down 98 single in November 1998. It also appeared on the B-Sides Ultra album.

The song had been covered by the band as a one-off broadcast for BBC Radio 1 to celebrate the 50th birthday of Iggy Pop, one of Tim’s most quoted influences in 1997 and was released eighteen months later due to fan requests.

They also played it live once at V Festival in Stafford in August 2000.
