Fine is track eleven on James’ 2001 album Pleased To Meet You. A live version of the song recorded by XFM in London in June 2001 appears on the live disc of The Gathering Sound boxset.
It is one of the few tracks from Pleased To Meet You that was not performed live during the Autumn 2000 tour when most of the new album was previewed.
Both Mark Hunter and David Baynton Power produced exclusive versions which were available for download on the band’s website.

I'm a boomerang
In the outback
Keep your throwing arm steady
So I get home
I'm a vampire bat
Out of Shanghai
Haven't eaten for four days
I've ordered in a Chinese takeaway
I show more than I hide
I care more than I cry
I'm a phonograph baby
My mind's alive and I'm in criss-cross
Fine
Fine
I feel fine
Fine
I'm a fortune cookie
Full of cheap advice
I'm a suicide rookie
Blowing last call
Show more than I hide
Care more than I can cry
I'm a phonograph baby
My wire's alive and I'm in criss-cross
Fine
Fine
I feel fine
Fine
In the outback
Keep your throwing arm steady
So I get home
I'm a vampire bat
Out of Shanghai
Haven't eaten for four days
I've ordered in a Chinese takeaway
I show more than I hide
I care more than I cry
I'm a phonograph baby
My mind's alive and I'm in criss-cross
Fine
Fine
I feel fine
Fine
I'm a fortune cookie
Full of cheap advice
I'm a suicide rookie
Blowing last call
Show more than I hide
Care more than I can cry
I'm a phonograph baby
My wire's alive and I'm in criss-cross

B--8-8-8--8--6---6---6----------------------------------
G-------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------------
A-------------------------------------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------------
Song Structure:
The song basically is a progression of F Am Bb with the following exceptions: the bit "I show more than I hide" is C Bb, and the keyboard solo is F Am.
Guitar work is limited to the occasional chiming of the chords.
In the "Mixing It Up" game on the Special Edition CD there is a "Guitar Loop" which doesn't appear in the song, but I've tabbed it anyway.
